Do you know what tomorrow is? Friday the 13th! August 13, 2010
It is considered an unlucky day around most of the world. Have you ever noticed that there isn't a 13th floor in tall buildings? The floors go from 12 to 14. Many people will try to avoid signing any contracts on this day, let alone travel on any public transportation that has a number 13 on it. Also, no ships will be launched on this date.
The history of this date goes back to the Christians and pagans. If you will look at the Last Supper, you will count 13 people at the table, and this was the day of the week that Jesus was crucified. Still today, people do not have 13 people dining at the table. Give you something to think about??
On a lighter note of the present time period, I had one really bad experience on Friday the 13th. Didn't think much about the date, drove myself to work without any problems. Said good mornin' to everyone and went to my desk and brought up my desktop publisher, everything just fine. Out of nowhere, my boss appeared ranting and raving. She threw her cup of coffee at me, told me I was showing her up by doing better work, and that I was fired and to get out. I tried to reason with her, that was a mistake. The BIG BOSS appeared, that enraged her anymore. That so-called BIG BOSS just cowarded to her, and for the wimp he was, I was gone! Moved on to bigger and better things, but sure tried to tone down my intelligence in order to keep everyone happy, still do.
After that, I always took a sick or vacation day on Friday the 13th.
It's time for my fellow Viners to tell the rest of us about any lucky or unlucky experiences.
